Week 2 - Movement
So the second class - still figuring out aperture, shutter speed, & ISO...all with no flash. But I'm pressing on!

The beginning - Week 1
So finally I decide to make the time to really explore one of my longest standing hobbies - photography. I've been taking pictures for years, but all just pointing and shooting. I've had several cameras - disk, 35mm, digital, & slr - and have never really learned to use any other options except auto. Yep, any picture of mine you've seen was probably done in auto and if it was something really nice - accidental (96 % of the time). LOL! I come from a family of picture hoarders and takers. My first child jumped right into it - becoming one of my most frequently used models, but that second one gave a good fight. However, she has now learned to just go with the paparazzi - MOM. In return, she is developing an interest in being behind the camera (reminder to self: get her a camera).
Anyhow, I expected to walk into class, have a teacher lecture, be provided all kinds of books, documentation, or examples, and walk thru the functions of my camera one by one. Guess what...not how it happened. My teacher is "ol school" and is kind of all over the place, but she brings alot to class. I believe she started with the basics, but went over alot of other things. We took practice shots in class, which I won't share :-) and had a homework assignment.
On the blog I will post pictures of homework, class pictures, talk about class, try to figure out what went wrong with a shot, and eventually incorporate what I learn into some great pictures, hopefully the progress will show in the shots.
Don't forget let me know what you think.
